Who do you want to speak to the class?
I'm looking into lining up another speaker before the semester is over and I'm soliciting opinions and giving you all a chance to notch one of your five required comments.

Your options include:
- Database reporter (younger reporter, moved from small paper in Arizona to USA TODAY.)
- Art director (career started a long time ago, runs gamut from illustrator to learning Flash animation. Was the artist who did the 9/11 plane landing graphic.)
- Videojournalist (did the day-in-the-life football player video).
- Interactive artist (creates interactives -- graphics, databases, etc.)
- Blogger, but I'm not sure who yet.

I would like to hear from the interactive artist, although all sound interesting. As far as where, it doesn't really matter to me.

I would like to hear from the video journalist or the blogger. It would probably be better for me to have them come here but if we make a trip out there that would probably work as well.

I would like to hear from the database reporter. I found the example of the Michael Jackson database very interesting and think a lecture from someone in that field would be a worthwhile experience.

I would like to listen to an interactive artist because graphics, especially with the creative aspect, interests me. I also would like to go to the USA newsroom, even though it seems very inconvenient.

I would like to hear from either the video journalist or the blogger because I really liked the video about the football player we watched in class. I think that kind of mini-documentary is really interesting. I'd rather not go to the USA Today newsroom if it's going to be a pain to get there.

I think it would be very interesting to hear from the video journalist. I would rather stay in College Park because it'd probably be easier for everyone.

Personally I think we should stay on campus because it could get complicated with rides, traffic, time, etc. I would be really interested in hearing from the videojournalist. I feel like we've talked a lot about the print aspect of online journalism, and it would be a nice change to hear about the other sides. It would also be interesting hearing from someone when we've already seen what they can do - which is excellent work.

As much as I would like to go to USA Today, I feel like it would just be a hassle getting there and back. I would be most interested in hearing from the video journalist. I liked the snippet of his work that we saw in class!

I would love to hear from either the art director (I loved the 9/11 graphic!) or the interactive artist. I think either of these speakers would go beyond what we heard from Marc Carig about blogging and tie in the multimedia art component of online journalism, which I am very interested in. I also think these speakers' insights would be helpful as we all plan out the multimedia components to our final projects.

I would love to hear from the video journalist. I enjoyed watching what he did and would like to learn more on how he got started. This is definitely a field I am interested in but don't know enough about. Also, I would really like to see the newsroom, but it just doesn't seem like it will work.
